Youtube Keyring
thingiverse
I'm a huge fan of YouTube myself and I love the idea of custom keyrings, so I started designing this... Halfway through, I thought, "I just have to make this two-colored, otherwise it won't look good!" So I came up with this design: The white part easily slides into the gap in the red part, making the logo look super cool. One end of the white part locks it in place on one side, and when you put keys on the ring, it's impossible for the two parts to separate. To assemble the keyring, you need to download both STL files and print the body in red and the other part white. As a newcomer to this website and 3D-printing in general, I'd really appreciate any kind of feedback! Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 Hephestos Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 20% Notes: Although settings aren't crucial to my knowledge, the gap is about 1.5cm big and the printer needs to print that whole line in mid-air. It worked just fine on my printer without support, but if it doesn't work for you, let me know because you might need to enable support or slightly adjust other settings. Post-Printing: Although the white ring is only 1mm thick, it's incredibly solid. At first, I was afraid that it could break easily, but after a couple of tests, it turns out that the metal ring (it's a small metal ring) is more likely to break than the PLA. How I Designed This: Designed with 123D Design and took about 1 hour for the finished model. I tried to make the shape of the logo as exact as possible, and I think it came out fine. I also left the 123dx folder available for download because you might want to make the white part a bit thicker so it fits tighter, but you'll need to test that with your printer. You can also edit the ring to make it fit whatever keys you want!
