Human: Creation of Low Poly Face by #Kongorilla. Your Big Face has been magnified and redesigned for production in coroplast material, also known as plastic cardboard. Engineered to be cut from 48" x 96" pieces of coroplast on a shopbot or other CNC router, this face reaches approximately 12' tall when assembled. It includes 1/4" bolt holes on tabs that align for quick and easy assembly. Designed to offer an entertaining experience at light & projection festivals for festival attendees, we created this Low Poly Face as a way to bring joy and creativity. Instructions 1) Download the files and scale them up/down if desired. However, make sure bolt hole positioning and size remain accurate when scaling. The set consists of 12 files with 19 parts each in both EPS and AI format. Choose one format but ensure all 12 files are used. 2) Acquire 4' x 8' sheets of coroplast from professional signmaker shops for best results. 3) Cut the pieces on a large shopbot or CNC router, making red lines as through cuts and blue lines as scores on the top surface of coroplast to create a foldy/bendy seam. Some folds are "mountain" while others are "valley." You can coax coroplast into valley folds by bending it incorrectly. 4) Attach panels together using 1/4" bolts, nuts, and washers, starting from the sides & top of the head and moving toward the middle. Use the provided "Assembly" JPG as an assembly guide; however, this file is not designed for cutting and lacks correct scaling & holes. 5) Construct an internal structural framework. We built a 3' tall version that stood on its own, but at 12' scale, it may be quite floppy and needs additional support. 6) Display faces or other content onto it. You can tie it to a giant weather balloon and send faces into the sky, or you might simply prefer projecting them directly. The possibilities are endless - enjoy!
