Young Whirlpool
thingiverse
In the distant past, Charybdis would release its offspring into the balmy waters, allowing them to drift for decades until they reached a suitable location to take hold and thrive. Disaster awaited those who encountered its noxious spawn, as it grew with alarming speed. This is part of my Mini-a-Day training in Blender, focusing on Water. I'm pleased with how it turned out, especially the abundance of texture throughout - I believe the water clearly stands out against the Whirlpool's flesh, making it easy to envision a realistic paint job. Next, I'll work on refining the waves, aiming for a size that differentiates them from the surrounding environment without becoming too subtle; over time, I may revisit this project and explore it as a subspecies.
