Yoshimura Crease Pattern Concrete Planter Short Version

Concrete Planter. This is a smaller version of the original Yoshimura Crease Pattern Concrete Planter I designed a month ago. It's exactly half the size but the rest of dimensions remain intact. It's 10cm tall making it perfect for cacti, succulents or aloes. Sides and interior part must be rotated 180 degrees around the Y axis to avoid supports (widest side always at the bottom). GCode created with Slicer PE using a 0.3mm layer height. For sides: at least five perimetral wall layers for strength and durability, making it last many casts. For the interior part: 30% infill with a drainage hole that acts as a plunger to tap it out with a rod and hammer after demoulding. Remember to cover the mould with vaseline to prevent sticking. Sides and interior part took almost 18 hours each to print, a big job but worth it. I used four parts concrete to one part water, or mix until it has a consistency like raw cookie dough. Happy making! UPDATES: - Use clothes pegs instead of clamps to keep the mould together. - A steel rod is better than hitting directly with a hammer when tapping out with the plunger end. Increase perimetral layers to at least four and top layers to five for added strength. - Regular PLA molds last exactly five castings before developing catastrophic cracks. Use PETG for longer lasting results.
