The mist that shrouds the valley comes from Vernal and Nevada Falls, two of Yosemite's most awe-inspiring waterfalls. I created this image using a LIDAR dataset available on http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/. The data was gathered as part of a research project focused on rockfall in Yosemite.
