A highly detailed 3D topographic map is presented, derived from a LIDAR dataset accessible through http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/. The dataset was collected for nitrogen export study and the 3D point cloud was gridded to a resolution of 0.5m. Crack systems, including the popular southeast buttress (5.7) climbing route, Eichorn Pinnacle (5.4), and even individual trees are visible in this map. A tutorial video on its creation is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4-ICkvyJv0, where the print duration of 11:25 is mentioned. The model was sliced using Simplify3d at default high quality settings and printed in PLA on a FlashForge. Additionally, a larger scale model featuring all of Cathedral Peak is included for those interested. This intriguing creation has also been featured on the 3D Printing Today podcast available on iTunes, Stitcher radio or directly from http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/.
