Yongnuo speed flashes shine brightly as fantastic external flashes for DSLR cameras on a tight budget. Unfortunately, the battery compartment doors are woefully fragile and render them completely unusable once they shatter. To avoid sourcing obscure parts from far-flung corners of the globe, simply 3D print a sturdy replacement! This design underwent numerous iterations to achieve a precise fit. Enjoy! For optimal results, consider printing in ABS or PETG for added toughness. Once complete, be sure to secure two sheets of sheet metal (or a folded pile of aluminum foil) to the battery contact strips with superglue. Please note that the original part is prone to breaking due to Yongnuo's subpar mechanical design - I expect this printed replacement to also succumb to repeated use, but at least it's easy to reprint again.
