Yogini with a Jar, early 10th century
thingiverse
I spotted this captivating Hindu deity at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and was eager to recreate her likeness. I snapped 52 photos in RAW format using a tripod but found myself unable to capture images of the top or rear of the statue. I'm still unsure how to craft a solid, printable version of sculptures like this one if I'm unable to get all sides of it, so if you'd like to print one, you'll need to give it a flat back and base. If you'd like more information about this sculpture, check out this link: http://collections.artsmia.org/search/yogini How I Designed This I used a tripod with my camera. I took all the photos at ISO 100, f/8 to ensure reasonably sharp images with maximum information captured for Photoscan to work with later. I shot all the photos in RAW format. At home, I imported all the RAW photos into Lightroom, made some tone and color adjustments to match the true color of the original sculpture, then exported the photos as 8-bit TIFs. In Photoscan, I used the 'Medium' settings at each stage. I double-checked the finished model, filled a few small holes, then got stuck on how to create a flat base and back for the model and finally decided to share it as-is.
