YinYang Dice Tower
thingiverse
So this is a dice tower, inspired by yin yang principles. The two spirals have a diameter of 33mm, which allows my largest die (29.5 across corners) to fit inside when printed with a 1mm volcano nozzle on a spiral vase. The big spiral part was designed specifically for SV in mind, while the other two pieces can be done however I sized it. The middle has an 8mm gap for some 8mm or 5/16 threaded rod. The part is optimized for my large printer's build volume, which is 300mm square and 400mm tall. Ridges on the underside of the tube promote tumbling, while pyramids on the outer wall of the tray mimic a craps table's wall, but I rarely see a die hit them. A 33mm cone can be placed in the tray to show off a yin yang shape, and viewed from above it looks like one. I've added four STLs to this Thing: DiceTowerConfigurable is the tower top and bottom with one rotation of the spiral removed, now only 271.15 mm high. Those with smaller printers may have an easier time printing them since mine can compensate for any void within. The other three are a complete spiral loop, top, and bottom - I haven't tried to print those individually but they could be printed to make a dice tower of arbitrary height limited by ABS plastic. Still intended for Spiral vase printing with slic3r and an e3d Volcano nozzle, and guess you'd glue them together since I haven't designed a connector part - it would ruin the lines of the tower. Mine has broken several times but looks better than if I had designed connector pieces.
