YinYang Dice Tower
pinshape
So this is a dice tower designed with a unique twist based on the concept of yin and yang. The two spirals that make up the tower are precisely 33mm in diameter, allowing my largest die to fit comfortably inside when printed using a spiral vase technique with a 1mm nozzle. I deliberately designed the big spiral part with SV (support structures) in mind, ensuring it would build smoothly within the confines of my large printer's 300mm square and 400mm tall build volume. A deliberate 8mm gap was created in the middle to accommodate an 8mm or 5/16 threaded rod for added stability. The underside of the tube features ridges that promote tumbling, while pyramids on the outer wall of the tray were designed to mimic the walls of a craps table - although I rarely see dice hit them. A 33mm cone can be placed in the tray to create a visually striking yin yang shape when viewed from above, with the entrance of the opposite tower aligned perfectly with the opposite color dot.
