Yin Yang Self Watering Pot

This was a project for an assignment in the Industrial Design program at the Academy of Art University, where I had the opportunity to exercise my creativity while incorporating functional elements. I purchased two battery-operated LED lights at Ace Hardware for about eight dollars each and a one-half inch wooden dowel for five bucks. Although I plan on making some minor adjustments to refine the design, it currently functions perfectly. To create this mini-greenhouse, you'll need some rocks - I used hydroton - which should be added to the bottom of the pot. For the wick, I opted for organic cotton but feel free to use string or a similar material instead. I planted a small Sundew carnivorous plant in a tiny lava rock that fit snugly in the pot and surrounded it with sphagnum moss before topping it off with smaller lava rocks.
