So my bench is a watchmaker's bench and my workshop is a 1-car garage, which means stuff needs to be portable. I needed a rework station and they all pretty much assume they own your workspace and maybe elsewhere? But not around here they don't.

This is Rev1.0, if something doesn't work hit me back. This is the print that made me fall out of love with Overture PETG as I realized that I've had 2/8 reels be bad. The kit, as shown, is a witches' brew of Overture PETG, Matterhackers PETG Pro (also a pain to print) and Overture PLA.

The 8786 has three M3 rear chassis screws per side. The basic design sandwiches a tip holder, an air nozzle holder, a handle and the 8786 between two risers sized to fit on a Prusa MK3S. In order to make the handle un-fuggly I gave it a secret stash. It looks like poo if you put it on one way but seamless if you put it on the other.

HARDWARE

QTY 10: M3x10 socket head cap screws (8786 mount, tip holder)

QTY 4 : M4x6 socket head cap screws (air nozzle holder)

QTY 1 : M4x20-25 socket head cap screw (solder bobbin)

QTY 3 : M4x12 socket countersunk screw (handle,cable reel )

QTY 2 : M4 nylock nut (handle)

QTY 8 : 8x3mm neodymium magnets (hot air holder)

QTY 18: 6x3mm neodymium magnets (tip holder & handle)

(I recognize that the two sizes of magnets are obnoxious but I had them on hand)

PRINTING

Everything prints without supports (it does now anyway!). Put a pause-print in the tip holder and nozzle holder to place the magnets; they're captive. The magnets for the handle just need to be glued.

I usually use captive Nylocks to bolt things together but there's no room on this. Instead the tip holder and hot air holder need to be tapped. One way you can do this is by heating up your screw and screwing it in. Another way is to use a tap. I went with the latter.

ASSEMBLY

None of this is critical.

I recommend attaching the brackets one at a time because when you take out the Yihua's screws the body panels wiggle a little. You'll need to finesse it a little because of that.

The hot air holder and tip holder sandwich between the brackets in whatever order. Do them first, prolly, then do the handle.

No reason to save the cable reel for last but it's whatever.
