Yi 4K Case for Walkera G-2D Gimbal (or standalone)
thingiverse
Originally designed by tohendo and remixed by Krynin, I further modified this Yi 4K case for use with the Walkera G-2D gimbal. My additions include holes for microphones and a speaker, a hole to access the USB port on the side, and pre-punched holes for Walkera G-2D gimbal arm screws. I also added a hole at the bottom to access the 1/4" socket mount if you prefer to use this case alone on a tripod to protect the camera. Where Krynin's design had the cover on the back, I moved it to the front and included an extensive integrated lens protector with a hole for the indicator light to shine through. The cover can be secured by a cable tie or standard velcro strap. A hole is also provided on the back of the case to make ejection of the camera easier when accessing the data card. To use this case with the Walkera G-2D gimbal, remove the stock GoPro holder by unscrewing two hex screws from the arm of the tilt motor. Remove the gyro board on the back of the stock holder by unscrewing four screws and snipping plastic around the cable where it goes through the GoPro holder frame. I included an STL file for a replacement gyro board holder that can be hot-glued to the back of the printed case, then use the stock cover and screws to secure the board. The whole assembly can be attached to the tilt motor arm using stock screws with pre-punched holes. Keep in mind that this new case and camera combination will have a different balance from the standard GoPro holder, so you may need to balance the case with counterweight or adjust power and gain for each motor according to the gimbal manual.
