yeti lid plug v2a
thingiverse
I'm frustrated with constantly spilling my drink, which just so happens to be a Yeti. That's why I came up with an idea to create a plug for the lid. As far as I know, the Yeti lids don't come with plugs, and this has been bugging me. Version 2 of the design is uploaded, thanks to some useful feedback that allowed me to make adjustments to the STL file. Here are my print settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: High Infill: 10% Notes: Not yet tested. Dimensions are in inches, and the object's total length is just over three inches. Post-Printing Results: After printing, I found that the part was about an eighth of an inch short. Everything else went smoothly, though, except for a slight leak from the mouth hole plug. However, when I plugged the air hole, no water spilled out for about a minute. To improve this design, I plan to make slight adjustments and eventually create a pattern for pouring rummer or other less stiff materials. Standards: NGSS CCSS Overview and Background: I got the idea of creating this plug because I'm always spilling my drink, which just happens to be a Yeti.
