For years, I've been trying to create tractor treads, a summary of which is still pending, due in large part to the numerous pieces involved. This was actually a 3D printer experiment that surprisingly worked out. Unfortunately, I never got around to making drive wheels for this project, but if you come up with some designs, please share them - I've printed plenty of track and would love to use it. It uses standard nails as pins. The pitch was supposed to be 20mm, but I messed up and it ended up being 21mm, which is really frustrating. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: i2 Rafts: No Raft Needed Supports: None Required Resolution: High Resolution at 0.3 mm Infill Percentage: 50% Infill Density How I Designed This I employed an early technique of stacked extrusions of 2D profiles that are CSG'd, which turned out to be much faster than CSGing the whole part! Although I was a bit rough around the edges back then, I've since become more skilled at this method.
