Yet Another Spool Stand and Spacer
thingiverse
Nothing fancy about this Spool stand. It uses a 1/2 inch PVC pipe as its support bar. Wire ties are attached to the ends to prevent axial movement. Considering adding end caps in the future, which will be incorporated into this design if that happens. A couple of pull-outs and push-ins have been added, making it slightly stronger than a smooth print. A small amount of super glue has been applied between the spacer and the two stands. The pins work well, but with excessive vibration, the glue appears to be necessary. Double-sided tape is placed under the stands or screws can be used for added stability. The print proves to be strong enough not to bend, flex, or vibrate at all. Several other designs have been tested, and they all seemed to have their issues. While this one has yet to be fully evaluated, it appears to be performing well so far. Bill.
