Yet another soapbox - travel box for shampoo and conditioner bars
prusaprinters
Now that solid bars of shampoo and conditioner became a thing there is the problem how to stow them when travelling. The cardboard boxes they are sold in become soggy and disintegrate in no time. 3D-printing to the rescue! This is nothing too fancy, just a little project that kept me busy over the long weekend. The inner box can be removed and is supposed to hold the bars. Then it goes back into the outer box when it's time to go home again… The rigid parts are printed in CPE for less brittleness. The flexible parts are printed in TPU. The filament I used is from Fillamentum and everything is printed on a MK3S. I had a wee play with the new fuzzy skin feature and I think it came out quite nice. The flexible inserts are a really tight fit. Hence the two sets of six in the plated file. The left column is shrunk a bit in the Y-axis. Even so they don't fit easily. Depending on your print accuracy you might want to scrape the edges of the keyways a bit.And most important: do put the little feet in the freezer for a while, that shrinks them and makes them rigid enough to be inserted. P.S. yes the print is stringy, I was just too lazy to clean it up, this isn't Vogue magazine ;)
