Update: The re-winder's spool has a tendency to flex outward at its edges, causing binding issues within the cartridge. To rectify this problem, the new design includes a feature that helps hold the spool in place while it's being filled. This is achieved by an updated plate, which utilizes the same part for both sides of the assembly. Unlike the previous model with threads, no modifications were needed. Required Components: QTY 1: A 1/4" Carriage bolt measuring 4 inches long QTY 1: A 1/4" Nut QTY 1: A 1/4" Wingnut QTY 2: Fender washers with a 1/4" ID and a large OD Instructions: For clearer instructions, refer to the provided photos if necessary. This is another iteration of the XYZ Da Vinci spool re-winder, utilizing less filament. Print both pieces using an optimal print setting of 50% fill or more. No supports are needed as the parts are designed for easy printing. Remove a used spool from inside a Da Vinci cartridge. To assemble the re-winder, follow these steps: place a 4-inch long, 1/4" bolt through the driver side and secure it with a square nut on the opposite end. Slide this assembly into the spool, followed by the addition of washers and wing nuts on both ends. Use an electric drill to wind filament onto the spool. Additionally, refer to the diagram for instructions on how to wind from one spool to another without twisting. For optimal print settings: XYZ Da Vinci 10a printer Rafts: Any setting will do. Supports: No supports are needed. Resolution: Good quality prints. Infill: Print at or above 50% infill. Notes: The design was created using FreeCad software.
