My Favorite Style Case for Raspberry-Pi Based Console Featuring: Raspberry Pi itself (I'm particularly using the RPi 2) A 3.5 inch SPI screen from Adafruit Two analog joysticks connected via an Atmega32u4 Two 12mm action/fire buttons Four 6mm utility buttons Two buzzers Custom Made Amplifier: Some Tips to Keep in Mind: The buttons and joysticks are sourced from eBay, with the joysticks looking similar to those found on a Dualshock 2. A custom amplifier can be built using a single chip LF amp, which is commonly found. Without an amplifier, the RPi cannot drive speakers at all. The amplifier is designed to be mounted vertically on part number three, and it should be placed between the screen and the RPi on the right side. Connecting buttons and joysticks can be done easily using a Teensy2 board. We've used a general-purpose Atmega32u4 instead, so we had to write custom software based on examples from Arduino Studio. The Atmega is mounted on part number four, which is attached to the top of the RPi beneath the screen. The case has been printed with PLA, but some problems have been encountered with the corners. Some modifications might be required to reduce tension on the corners when printing layers cool down. Split Part Number One into Multiple Pieces: To properly position the upper part of the case and the buttons, split part number one into multiple pieces (e.g. "Split Object" button in Repetier-Host). Note that buttons are specifically made up of two pieces each to achieve better print quality. Using a 0.2 nozzle is recommended when printing buttons. I'm attaching the .scad file just in case anyone wants to customize it. The upper/lower parts can be switched by supplying one or two into the console() module at the bottom of the file. The rest of the pieces are simply commented with an asterisk (*). Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 Clone Hesine MB505 Rafts: No Rafts Supports: No Supports Resolution: It doesn't matter; I used a 0.2 layer with a 0.3 nozzle. Infill: It doesn't matter
