Yet Another Octopus
thingiverse
I wanted to create my own take on the octopus with chain-linked tentacles, featuring longer tentacles and a more realistic body shape. Special thanks go out to McGybeer for inspiring this idea and Ellindsey for providing the octopus body model. As I worked on the design, I noticed that the pieces at the ends of the tentacles became quite small. To address this issue, I might create an alternative version with a few fewer links in the chain. Update: ya-octopus-v5a.stl - I revised the model to flatten the bottom of the tentacle segments, which greatly improved printing performance. I was able to successfully print this design using PLA without adding a brim. YA-octopus-v3.stl - To strengthen the linkage at the ends of the tentacles, I reworked the model so that those segments are no longer as small. YA-octopus-v2.stl - The original design remains available for anyone interested.
