At the office, we will get some new laptops and docking staions (130 sets :-) ) soon. Since the new docking stations won't be the kind you put the laptop on top of, but the kind connecting with a USB-C cable (https://i-tec.cz/en/produkt/cadua4kdockpdl-2), I decided to design a stand where I could place both devices on top of each other, freeing up some desk space.
First, I looked at (and printed) the nice stand from JannesV, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2458297, but decided it is not exactly what I was looking for. I needed it a bit wider and lower, have a dedicated space for the docking station and fit it for the Lenovo Thinkpads L390 we will receive. I wanted the stops at the bottom to have 'hooks' as well, to be sure the laptops won't slide off...

So, I designed my own stand: a bit more sturdy, a bit lower, with hooks for the laptop and brackets for the docking station...

It is de designed for our 13" laptops, but by designing your own connecting bars (20 mm wide, 3mm thick and x mm long) you can make it as wide as you like. If you don't like the base for the dock, just use 1 or two bars instead. Print the side once, and mirror it in your slicer for the second side. Glue the parts together and you're done...

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0,2mm

Infill:

15%

Filament:
DasFilament PETG

Notes:

Use 3 perimeters and 15-20% infill to get a sufficient strong print.

Category: Computer
