Yet another extruder filament drive
thingiverse
Revise the Delrin plunger extruder design for better functionality and ease of use. Replace the four screws and springs with a simpler pivot mechanism, inspired by jstkatz's Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7037). Although jstkatz's design is more elegant, both versions offer similar functionality (except this one uses the MK6 NEMA 17 motor). Print two parts without support, as provided files already have supports included. For a quick release option, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7449. To install, cut excess support material from pivot location and arm bearing mount, clean up as needed, drill holes if necessary, attach bearing to arm with M6 bolt, attach arm to body with M3 and M4 bolts and nuts, insert three M3 nuts into slots, and secure extruder components with M3x12 bolts. If you have any issues or suggestions, feel free to let me know! Change log: - Uploaded new idler arm (STL and Alibre part) compatible with 1.75mm and 3mm filament (5/8/11) - Scaled body part to avoid rescaling before printing (inches to mm) (6/28/11)
