This is my first project using OpenSCAD based on the work of TheNewHobbyist - for more details see "Customizabe Wire Access Grommet" [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:273159]. The first figure shows the cable bushing in the center of lid and the second one as far as possible towards the brim. Special thanks to TheNewHobbist. #### Changes compared to the orginal I added quite a lot of more customization for the "grommet" and also for the "lid". > Parameters for the grommet: > - The outer diameter for the grommet can be given in steps of 0.1 milimeters. > - The thickness of the grommet walls can be given in milimeters. > - The thickness of the grommets plate can be given in milimeters. > - The depth of the grommet. > - The size of the brim around the grommet. > Parameters for the lid: > - The thickness of the lids plate, > - the overlapping of the lid into the grommet. > - the thickness of the lid walls > - the diameter of the cable bushing > - the location of the cable bushing > - optional text on the top of the lid (requires "write.scad" - not icluded) #### Notes > - Please note that the SCAD may show some colors, but the generated STL is not multicolor. > - For the optional text the "write.scad" is required (not part of the design). Copy the file in a sbudirectory called "write" below the "libraries" directory of the OpenSCAD installation. If you don not intend to put any text on the lid, then there is no need for "write.scad". > - For displaying a virtuell printer plate "build_plate.scad" is required (not part of the design). Copy the file in a subdirectory called "utils" below the "libraries" directory of the OpenSCAD installation. "build_plate.scad" is not mandatory for the function - it is only nice to have. > - There may be warnings during the generation - ignore them. #### History > - 24.09.21 1st version > - 27.09.21 Changed the resolution of some sliders and make the lid a little smaller to fit better in the grommet.
