DESCRIPTION: My own version of the Core XY printer is a DIY project that showcases my creative take on 3D printing technology. The hotend is a low-cost J-head with a bowden configuration, modified to allow the Teflon tube to pass through the heatsink and reach the heater block. This design provides superior heat dissipation and minimizes thermal stress on the components. The heater block itself is covered in a layer of high-temperature-resistant silicone, commonly used in engine applications, to ensure optimal performance and longevity. The Z-axis features a simple yet effective threaded rod with a wobble and backlash suppression system in place. The Z motor is mounted upside down, which stretches the rod rather than compressing it, and an additional axial bearing is integrated between the coupling and the Z-bearing holder to absorb the weight of the Z carriage. The complete 3D model of the extruder is available for download in STL and STEP file formats. If you require the original Creo Parametric files, I can provide them; however, please note that I use the Academic version of Creo 3.0, which may not be compatible with commercial versions. BOM: * Aluminum profiles: 8 x 30x30 L360, 4 x 30x30 L470, and 1 x 30x30 L340 * NEMA 17 brackets (see image uploaded): 3 pieces * Rod supports (see image uploaded): 4 SHF10, 4 SK10 * Rods: 2 D10 L360, 2 D8 L355, and 2 D10 L460 * Linear bearings: 8 LMU10, 4 LMU8 Note: My LMU10 bearings have an outer diameter of 19mm, while the LMU8 bearings have an outer diameter of 16mm. * Endstops: 3 micro switches, 250VAC, 3A (see image uploaded) * Hotend: J-head Allmetal (bowden configuration) + support * Fans: axial 30mm 12V and radial 40x40x20mm 12V (see image uploaded) * Belt and pulleys: GT2 Bore 5mm, GT2 Width 6mm * Bearings: 16 MF105 ZZ, 1 ZZ606F, and 1 axial bearing with an inner diameter of 6mm * Threaded rod M6 inox + brass bushing M6 for wood (see image uploaded) * Teflon tube for 1.75mm filament and 2 pneumatic fittings * M5 Drop In T-slot Nuts Aluminum Profile * D5 x D6 mm Coupling If I've missed anything, please don't hesitate to ask!
