I use a KVM and other cables on my work desk, holding them at the back edge with a clip. To keep it from sliding off, I applied microsuction tape to the flat part where it rests on top of my desk. Although the tape isn't as sticky as I had hoped, it works well for this purpose because the bottom part of the clip helps to compress the top part and so does the weight of the cables. The result is that they stay in place perfectly and can hold a large number of cables while remaining easy to remove when needed.
