Following reviews of the Yeswelder EH-091XL, I ordered a Lincoln KP3908-1 Headgear to replace the subpar stock unit. Upon inspecting the helmet, I discovered that the cutouts on the Yeswelder helmet had been modified from the standard square Lincoln style. After attempting to mate parts from both helmets with no success, I determined that custom parts would be required with mating features matching the Yeswelder cutout. The friction side is straightforward and features a small snap fit tab at the top, optimized for a 0.3- 0.4mm nozzle. The detent side, however, presents a more intricate challenge and demands precision printing. To simplify the process, I omitted the snap fit tabs on this part, making it easier to print. This part requires high accuracy, which is why I printed the detent portion with a 0.05mm layer height. A -MOD version is available, featuring a hole instead of a pin for added versatility. A 3mm wood dowel works effectively as an alternative to HDPE or metal dowels. To ensure these parts are robust and durable, print them hot with good cooling and use a maximum nozzle size of 0.4mm.
