Yellowstone Falls

thingiverse

Yellowstone Falls fabricated through SRTM2STL, fueled by SRTM data extracted from the Space Shuttle orbit. To facilitate access, I'm attaching two distinct files: one featuring the edge of the lake alongside the falls and another centered solely on the falls itself. Each map extends slightly into the area north of the waterfall. Notably, I enlarged this topological layout by a factor of 3 for better resolution. Those interested in replicating these designs can peruse the open-source code via GitHub, available under the GNU license; simply navigate to GitHub and search for SRTM2STL. **Additional Information** When printing, consider reducing the scale to minimize distortion, particularly if using PLA material, which may lead to unwanted warping effects. Prints on larger scales, especially those representing Raised Relief Maps, tend to amplify this issue further. Despite facing some limitations in creating extensive prints, experience indicates that pinpointing and mitigating warping allows for increased success when handling bigger designs.
