Simple Submarine Boat Made on Demand of My Kids My kids asked for a submarine boat, and I was happy to oblige. The ballast tank is operated by a syringe, which my younger child prefers to use with their mouth through a thin elastic hose. It would be great to find something more elastic than the one I'm using. The ballast consists of a 4cm threaded rod M8, notched at the end for easy screwdriver access. To trim the boat, simply move this rod along the keel. For easier connection of the hose into the boat, I glued a part of a thin pen cartridge inside. This was done using hot glue, which can be applied to the designated area. The submarine was printed without any supports and made from PLA. However, it's not the best choice due to poor water resistance. ABS or PET might be better options for this type of project.
