Yellow Submarine

A yellow submarine model by 'seedee' (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=ffa5a9b0c0f629b78b02d321c58ac567) has been optimized for 3D printing. To color the model, lemon yellow, sunshine yellow, orange, red, pink, blue and brown fine point Sharpies from the "80s Glam" collection were used. On March 16, 2016, display stand options were posted for the sub. These stands can be printed in Sea Green. To make printing easy without supports, Netfabb was utilized to split the model and plate the halves. Makerware's 'High' profile was used for slicing with white PLA as the material. After light sanding, the halves were glued together, but the seam required filling and further sanding before painting. The Yellow Sub Base was created by extruding a logo picture using Microsoft 3D Builder's "Camera" function and then subtracting it from 3D letters.
