Since the dawn of the internet, netizens have used ribbons to express their opinions on social issues. One notable example is the Blue Ribbon movement that took place in 1996 when US Senator Exxon proposed a bill to ban abusive language online. Since then, various colored ribbons with different meanings have been used on the internet: 1. Blue Ribbon: A symbol of opposition against censorship, it's also used for pet protection. 2. White Ribbon: A ribbon against violence towards women. 3. Black Ribbon: Used by anarchists and workers' movements. 4. Gray Ribbon: For children with disabilities. 5. Yellow Ribbon: To ban junk mail (indiscriminate advertising). 6. Brown Ribbon: To highlight beer drinking rights worldwide. 7. Red Ribbon: Emphasizing social education for AIDS. The medical community uses colorful ribbons as symbols to raise awareness about certain diseases and give hope to those fighting them: 1.
