Yellow Motor Mount

Yellow Motor Mount

These yellow motors are affordable and widespread, used in numerous robotics kits due to their reduction gearbox. They're useful because they have a reduction gearbox. One issue is that they can be challenging to mount on a project prototype. This mount should assist individuals who wish to use them in their own projects - though they're not recommended for quality reasons. Fit: I printed these and had to file a bit to allow the drive shaft to fit, then adjusted the design to correct for this issue. Hopefully you won't have to file at all, but I'm not reprinting them to verify, so if you use this design, there are no guarantees - however, I provide the original design files for modification. Reviving a broken gearbox: I don't recommend purchasing these yellow motors because they break easily: the nylon pinion gear slips on the smooth lubricated motor shaft. There is a solution though. You can easily disassemble the motor and mark the shaft with a hacksaw if you hold it in a vise. Then glue the nylon pinion gear to the shaft with mild contact adhesive.
