Year of the Pig
cults3d
The Year of the Pig design showcases a stylish pig figure representing the Chinese year, complete with a central section that spins for fidget value. Two versions are available, one designed purely for entertainment purposes and another featuring a modified tail that can be easily attached to a key ring or used as a FOB. Additionally, undecorated versions have been provided for those who prefer a plain pig design. To achieve the best results when printing the decorated pig, it is recommended to use two colors by pausing your machine during filament color changes at approximately 2mm and again at approximately 8mm. Refer to the images for detailed instructions and pay close attention to the formation of the ears and tail to determine the optimal print times. A traditional look can be achieved using red outer surfaces and a white centre. The central section is designed to spin freely after printing, provided that the file has been precisely sliced and printed on an accurately set up machine. This design offers a fun and easy print project, with the additional effort of color changes well worth the time invested. However, it's worth noting that using fast outline speeds may compromise the clarity of fine details in the decoration. The prints featured in the images were created at 20 mm/s outline speed. For further information on print settings and to see examples of completed prints, refer to the accompanying images. Members are encouraged to post their own print results for others to view and share in the fun.
