Year of the Pig
thingiverse
The Year of the Pig design showcases a beautifully decorated pig for the Chinese year, featuring a centre section that spins for added fidget value. Two versions are available - one for fun and another with a redesigned tail that can be easily attached to a key ring as a FOB. Additionally, plain pig designs have been provided for those who prefer a simpler look. To achieve the best results, print the decorated pig in two colors by pausing your machine at approximately 2mm and again at 8mm to switch filament colors. Refer to the images for detailed instructions on how to create the perfect ears and tail. Using red outer surfaces and a white centre yields a traditional appearance. The centre section is designed to spin freely after printing, provided the file has been precisely sliced and printed on an accurately set up machine. This design requires minimal post-processing and can be completed quickly and easily. Doing color changes adds extra time and effort, but it's well worth it for a high-quality finish. Note that fast outline speeds may compromise the clarity of fine details in the decoration. The prints shown in the images were printed at 20 mm/s outline speed.
