YASpool

YASpool

This spool design uses cheap materials and is 3D printable. It could potentially be made with less plastic and shorter print times, but once functioning, it was no longer a priority. UL has been on the to-do list for weeks but remains uncompleted. Fine tuning options are available in the instructions, left as a challenge for readers. Required materials include a 1/2 inch dowel, #4 wood screws and a 3 inch lazy susan bearing (available at masoncarr or Ace Hardware). Modifying the scad file may require additional tools. Assembling the spool involves using two hub halves and four other parts. Install dowels before adding filament, and consider mounting the spindle to prevent issues. A filament guide might be necessary in the future.
