Yarn swift

Yarn swift

thingiverse

A swiftly holds a skein of yarn while being wound into a ball, preventing tangles during the winding process. The umbrella swift is a common example, allowing you to unwind/rewind yarn as needed without assistance. This swift has an adjustable diameter, expandable to at least 1.8m, and is mounted on a rod with dampening for smooth winding. Its assembly involves attaching parts cut from MDF/ply/acrylic, along with nuts, bolts, washers, and cable ties. A base is also required, which can be mounted in a block of wood or adapted from a desk lamp clamp for easy storage. Modifications can include adjusting slot thicknesses, shortening arms, adding more arms, or extra struts for handling larger diameter skeins. Happy swifting!
