Yarn Holder Rev 1
thingiverse
My wife wanted a Yarn Holder, and I took on the challenge of designing one just for her. It works flawlessly, able to hold large yarn cakes with ease. Spins smoothly, and features a spacious table that keeps yarn from falling off easily. Also includes designated spots for rubber feet, which prevent the base from sliding around by using pencil erasers as feet. The design utilizes the top of this Nostepinne, giving full credit where it's due to its creators. Check out the original at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2127625. This allows for effortless transfer from the Nostepinne to the Holder: simply remove the handle and attach the top to the holder. I've also seen these referred to as Yarn Caddy, Yarn Butler, or Yarn Dispenser. The main Table can be printed without any support material needed. However, the table holder and Base will require some minimal support to print correctly. Print the table holder upside down for optimal results. It's essential to attach a nut on either side of both Bearings to prevent excessive friction caused by over-tightening the nuts. Printed with 20% infill, support enabled, and an outer wall inset of 0.2 using a 0.4mm nozzle. You'll need: one M8 Threaded Rod, 90mm in length; five M8 Nuts; one M8 Washer; four M3x8mm Socket Head Screws; four M3 Nuts; two 608 Bearings (Skateboard Bearings). Optional: four pencil erasers cut to 5mm in length for anti-slip feet. Designed using TinkerCad and Feline Approved.
