Yarn Bowl

Bowl for holding yarn or hank while knitting etc. Place thread through slots between twirls and slightly pull it sideways-up. This will hook thread, and yarn won't jump up from bowl if pulling too hard or fast. Same movement in reverse will release it. Using big, heavy yarns requires making bowl more bottom-heavy to prevent it from falling over if pulling too hard. Pictures show a few hard disk platters fastened to the bottom with super glue. Bottom diameter is 95mm - same as standard 3.5" hard drive disk platters. Simple piece of wood works fine, though. Or scale print to what else you have laying around. I also made a lid (optional) that can be used to cover yarn additionally. If printing bowl with low infill, there's a risk of twirls breaking if being too rough with it. Lid makes bowl function well even without twirls. Heart-shaped top hole makes the lid easy to lift. As a hidden feature, the bowl can also be used for other things than yarn; candy, coins, rings and false teeth.
