Yarn Bowl Flower Nut and bolt
thingiverse
My wife requested that I craft a Yarn Bowl from a decorative metal tin she owned. The tin featured a Japanese Geisha and Cherry blossom theme. This decorative nut and bolt were designed to complement the theme and safeguard the yarn from the sharp edges created when drilling a 10mm hole in the top of the tin lid. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Post-Printing: Smothening out the thread Inspect the thread for any defects and remove them with a razor or light sanding, then screw the nut down slowly while working it back and forth, tightening it a little further each time until the nut moves down the entire length of the thread. It will be tight at first but as the edges lap each other and smooth out, the threads will slip over each other much easier. Using some lubrication helps with the process, a water-based lube is ideal.
