Yard Pinwheel

Yard Pinwheel

I really loved the design that inspired this project, but I wanted to push it even further and make it more robust, especially considering the strong winds in my area. So, I used the original blade shapes (increased by 60% - 375mm across), but reworked the axles, hubs, and mounts for added stability. You'll need to exercise extra caution when gluing the bearings in place, making sure you use enough adhesive to secure them firmly to the rim of the bearings without accidentally getting it on the center hub or inside the bearings (I applied glue with the cap facing upwards). In addition to the prints, you will require the following hardware: - Two 608 (2RS) bearings - Two M8-1.25 x 25mm machine screws - Two M8 hex nuts - One 5 foot 1/2" steel conduit (I found mine pre-cut at Home Depot) - One 4 foot 1/2" rebar (this is optional, I added it for extra stability due to the strong winds)
