YARC - Yet Another RAMPS Case
thingiverse
Printable 2-part RAMPS 1.4 case that accommodates a slot for a centrifugal fan, which currently fits the one removed from a Dell D830 laptop. The slot's size can be adjusted parametrically. This design is ideal for ABS printing and has been successfully printed on a Mendel without clashing with the E-motor. The two parts can be screwed together using M3 bolts, or they can simply slide in tightly. The scad file allows customization of various aspects such as rail thickness, slot size for PCB, lid size, and print support fins. A 6-dollar centrifugal fan from eBay is suggested, but if you have another affordable suggestion, the STL will be shared. This fan is bi-directional, blowing chilled air into the box while drawing power from a 5v line of an ATX PSU, providing excellent cooling. The HP Pavilion DV7 AB7805HX-EB1's fan might be cheaper but its aperture dimensions are unknown. The ramps2.stl file includes feet and a cutaway on the top right rail for side-mounted board connectors.
