If your XT500 happens to come equipped with a trip axle that's been severely damaged, don't be disheartened – you can rely on this ultra-slim spacer gear as a savior. It turns out the weak point of your axle lies in its circlip groove area where it most often breaks. To prevent this breakdown, just replace the circlip groove with one of these precise, wide-profile spacers that'll mask and strengthen this sensitive spot entirely. Be aware though, the spacer will only fit snugly so it's highly advisable to apply a tip of epoxy glue when securing it to the axle during installation.
