Yamaha XT350 Intake cover replcement
prusaprinters
My friend and co-worker has 3 Yamaha dual-sport XT350s. And one intake cover OEM P/N 30X-14412-00 (zero stock). He has tried aftermarket air cleaners to get around the issue but apparently that requires some carburetor tuning and he would have to find a way to re-integrate the battery. There are some interesting design considerations that had to be delt with such as the intake box itself warping over time. Some light heat might be required to fit the air box to this part and leave it bolted up to shape the air box to this part. I tried to stay close to the OEM contour as this might be where the rider's leg rests? I'm including the Fusion file and step as this exercise is not monetary for me and converting meshes to make changes is no fun for anyone. I would like to make a PIP folding air box design to replace that part as well, but work :( life :). Ideas for future remixes metal inserts for through holes, easier printing and different lettering. I originally printed this in PLA for a prototype face down with no support removal issues, when I switched to PC CF blend this generated a support nightmare, so I delegated the removal to friend, some say he is still removing supports to this day! Printing like a bowl might leave scaring on the pretty side.
