Years ago, a young thrill-seeker bought a massive motorcycle that towered over him, and soon after, he took a tumble, sending the side cover on his engine crashing to the ground, along with his already fragile ego. It's no secret that tracking down parts for a vintage bike is a daunting task, especially in these distant regions of the Dark Continent, where prices are steep and availability is scarce. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands, designing and 3D printing a custom ABS cover to shield the crank seal from harm. After months of putting this makeshift solution to the test, it's proven itself to be an absolute marvel, withstanding even the most brutal weather conditions without so much as a hairline fracture. Not once has it shown any signs of warping or cracking, a true testament to its durability and resilience. The print job itself was nothing short of basic – it was simply a stopgap measure, after all – but it served its purpose flawlessly, with nary a soul the wiser until I took another spill. My dreams of crafting an advanced slide protector were reduced to smithereens, much like my collarbone and the front end of my bike. Still, we'll rebuild and try again, just like the heroes in our favorite movies.
