Yamaha XJ600 In-Frame Ignition Mount
pinshape
My 1995 Yamaha XJ600 has undergone a sleek naked conversion, with the ignition switch relocated down into the frame where it will eventually reside among the infills. To secure this vital component, zip ties hold it firmly in place within its mount before being fastened to the frame itself. While I'm eager to refine the setup so that the switch cradles neatly into the frame, this current configuration is a welcome improvement over relying solely on zip ties. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.20 Infill: 65% Notes: Carefully positioned supports are required under the front overhang to ensure stability, while the remaining areas should print without issue. My printer's 65% infill setting strikes a perfect balance between weight and performance. Post-Printing: Gently remove all support material. Securely fasten the switch into its mount before attaching it to the frame. Design Process: Rhino software took center stage during the design process, complemented by calipers for precise measurements, a trusty pen and pencil for initial sketches, and valuable reference photos to guide my creative vision.
