Yamaha Sr Viper 1/6 Simple Gearbox
thingiverse
** Simple gearbox for the Sr Viper ** Works with either a 540 or 380 size motor, choose the correct front and back cover to match your size. The bolt spacing for the 380 motor is precisely 19mm; I can create a 16mm version on request if needed. **UPDATE March 2nd 2020:** A friend made some remixes for the transmission that I reworked for an improved overall experience. The redesign includes a lower bearing, a bolt near the top of the motor to keep the case closed with heavy motors, and a reworked support. Please note that the picture is outdated and not showing the new version. **UPDATE Dec 6 2020:** A new "Final_Gear_27T_24DP_Tighter.stl" file has been added, which features a tighter tolerance for the Hex shaft. Use this if your printer is well-calibrated or you prefer a snug grip on the shaft. **Required Non-Printed Parts:** * A 32 pitch Pinion with approximately 12-14 teeth * One 10x15x4 bearing * One 8x12x3.5 bearing * Four 3x8x4 bearings * Four M3x20 bolts * Three M3x16 bolts * Two M2.5x12 bolts (for the transmission mount to chassis) * Multiple M3 washers (you may or may not need these for the gears, depending on clearance) **Notes:** * You can use your original final gear instead of printing one; it will fit perfectly. * Avoid overtightening the bolts that pass through the gears, as this could lock up your gearbox. Use a plastic-compatible grease or another suitable lubricant for the gears.
