Yamaha Kill Switch
thingiverse
I've created a replacement for the Dual Engine kill switch from Yamaha that requires 2 micro switches such as the 1C25 model. This setup triggers the switch upon insertion of the safety lanyard, allowing ignition to the engine only when the lanyard is in place. When the lanyard is pulled during engine operation and correctly wired, it will stop the engine. The dual motor Yamaha version of this replacement costs $80. The mechanism is straightforward: when the plunger is pulled up, it presses the buttons on the micro switch, while the absence of the lanyard allows the spring to push the buttons back out due to gravity. I've used this setup in my own boat at my own risk. While I'm confident that it should work correctly, there are no warranties or guarantees of its performance. It's essential to test this setup frequently and be prepared for any potential risks. I'm happy to share this information with others, but please note that I accept no responsibility for the outcome. If this replacement doesn't operate as expected, users may face consequences such as death or worse.
