Yam Stool
thingiverse
The objective is to completely reproduce the sculpture of the Yam Stool, featuring 24 printed pieces that make eight full yams and clamp mounts, mounted onto a stool as shown in the picture. To achieve this goal as part of an exhibition, collaboration is sought for facilitating its realization and sharing. Interested parties are requested to contact tylerhbt@gmail. Based in Baltimore, MD, the project welcomes any full yam reproduction and modification attachment to other structures. The clamp fits best around a 3/4" tube and is tightened with #6 screws. Made from PLA, ABS or other plastic composites using a plastic extrusion printer, seven .stl files are provided for ideal construction. Each yam consists of three parts: a yam bottom, a yam top, and the clip backing. Different angled clips offer varied orientation options when mounting multiples on straight frameworks. Distorted yam bottom and top pieces are also included in the files. After printing, two yam halves connect with 3mm rods, and clip backings are secured using #6 screws.
