I needed a more reliable way to secure my Thule light board to my US Yakima Hold-Up bike rack, so I created these custom brackets. To make them, I used PETG at an 80% fill rate for maximum strength. You'll need the following parts: - A rectangular steel tube measuring 30.5 x 40.5 mm (available at Hornbach) - Steel 'L bracket' pieces cut to length for attaching to the light board - M5 SHCS with a minimum length of 12mm, used to attach an internal spacer to the square tube - M5 x 45mm screws, washers, and nuts to secure the L bracket to the steel tube - M6 x 25mm screws, washers, and nuts for attaching the light board to the L bracket - A Yakima hold-up add-on screw or an M10/M12 screw to attach the square tube to the hold-up rack - Various tools such as a drill, bits, paint, etc. To assemble these brackets: 1. Cut the steel tube to your desired length and securely attach the L bracket to it using bolts or welding. 2. Drill the necessary holes for the internal spacer M5 and Yakima bolt. 3. Apply a coat of paint for protection and style. 4. Assemble all the parts according to their designated functions. 5. Once complete, take your bike out for a ride and enjoy the added security and convenience provided by these custom brackets.
