YAFR – yet another filament roller
thingiverse
I've just completed my compact custom core-xy printer (for now; it's sure to receive some upgrades) and wanted an equally compact spool holder to match it. ##You'll need: - **4 x tubes/rods** with a **diameter of 8mm** and a **length of your choice** (mine are 114mm (100mm space for the spool + 2 x bearing thickness) aluminum tubes from the hardware store (bought in 1m, cut to size)), but it doesn't hurt if the axles are a tad bit shorter (clearance). - **4 x 608 bearings** - **2 x the printed body parts** I've included the Fusion 360 source file. To make changes to the dimensions of the tubes/rods and bearings, you can simply change the according parameters. Oh, and it helps if your bearings are already 'broken in'. Mine came fresh out the box and didn't roll too well. I then swapped them for two pairs of used ones that rolled a lot better.
