YAFM (Yet Another Fan Mount) for Mk5 (and Mk6)
thingiverse
This 50mm fan mount directly attaches to the support acrylic parts of Mk5 (or possibly Mk6) printers, enabling directed airflow towards the printing area. The hinged design allows easy movement, keeping the fan out of sight against the extruder body without obstructing build or filament views. Print required files include 2 Arm.stl, 2 attachment for mk5.stl, 1 fan bracket LHS, and 1 fan bracket RHS.stl parts. Fan brackets are attached to the fan with coarse thread self-tapping screws; M3x20 screws secure hinging arm parts, requiring M3 nyloc nuts for stability. Two identical parts, secured by M3x20 cap screws, hold the assembly on the Mk5 base. A switch or firmware control should be used to turn off the fan when not in use. Inspiration came from thing:6787 by Renosis but aimed for a less obtrusive mount with minimal extra hardware. This fan mount was utilized to build cube gears (thing 6073), though airflow sufficiency and ABP belt issues still persist.
